Many have said that tithing has been done away with, and that it is for the Old Covenant only. They say it has no part of the New Covenant, and that it is legalistic and holds us in bondage. I would like to take a look at this from a Biblical perspective, and try to see the truth of God’s Word and find out, why the tithe?

This study focuses on how and why we should fear God and what that means exactly.

Every time we sin, we are in essence cheating on God. Instead of loving Him with all of our heart, mind, and soul; we end up pleasing the Devil by rejecting God's commandments and falling into sin... and so often we make excuses for ourselves, and do not realize how damaging sin is to our relationship with Him.

We all have areas of failure, whether it is noticeable by others or not. We all fall short of the glory of God, and fall to temptations. And it seems that Satan is right there, continuously telling us that we "cannot defeat him."

Sometimes, as I see sin’s strong hold on people – including myself – I become discouraged. Deep-grained anger destroys relationships. Addictions turn smiling people into violent criminals. Envy embitters the heart. And I think to myself, “Surely, it is hopeless! The sin is too strong; even God can’t seem to help this mess.” But that is a lie.

To a culture driven by a desire for entertainment, health, wealth, and prosperity, the fact that Jesus promised trials and tribulations is shocking. Even as a Christian, I don’t like it. I don’t want sickness, perplexity, sorrow, loneliness, and desolation. And I don’t like the fact that God may ask any or all of those things from me to bring about his own glory and his own purpose.
