A move to remove Bibles from some British hospitals has created a controversy. Some hospital administrators are seeking to removed the Bibles because they are hard to keep germ-free and could be a way to spread serious contagions such as MRSA. Nuns Sign Record Deal With Lady Gaga’s Label
Lady Gaga and a group of cloistered nuns seems about as odd a pair as possible, but that is precisely case with a new signing by Decca Records. The same label which forwards the pop superstar has inked a group of French Benedictine nuns for an album of Gregorian chants. As part of an ancient order that dates to the sixth century, the nuns can only communicate to visitors, even family, through a grill, according to Decca. The company’s managing director, Dickon Stainer, was not able to enter the abbey for the nuns to sign their new record deal.

Hillsong, hailing from Australia, is currently on tour in the United States. “We’d probably err to call it a performance,” singer Ben Fielding said during the band’s second U.S stop in Johns Creek, Ga., over the weekend. “We see these nights as being about people coming out to worship. A Catholic priest who taught at a Youngstown, Ohio, high school has been defrocked by Pope Benedict XVI over allegations of sexual abuse. An abuse allegation surfaced in May 2009 while Thomas Crum was pastor at Our Lady of Peace Church in Canton, the diocese removed him from active duty and asked him to consider requesting removal from the priesthood, which he did.
